Online permit check for tree trimming or felling in Westervoort

Westervoort has its own regulations regarding tree cutting and trimming. In some municipalities (Dutch: “gemeente”) you can cut any of your trees without a permit. Unless the tree is on the protected tree list of your municipality. In other municipalities you need to apply for a permit for even the smallest of trees and the permit request alone can cost a lot of money.
Permit or not, you are always required to adhere to the dutch Environment Law (dutch: Omgevingswet). It aims to protect wildlife and nature in general. Mainly applicable to occupied bird nests or year round protected bird nests.

The municipal tree regulations can be found in the “Algemene Plaatselijk Verordening”, or AVP in short, of your municipality.

Techniques for Cutting Down and Removing Trees

Where space is tight or valuable items are below your tree, our solution involves climbing, speed-line usage, and lowering ropes to dismantle your tree branch by branch. The speed-line technique directs branches to a safe landing away from the tree. Climbing is the preferred method for ensuring the safety of nearby goods or property, offering the highest level of control and accuracy in tree removal. For full tree extraction, climbing with spurs and a flip-line or lanyard can be used. For tree trimming, though, we steer clear of spurs to avoid harming the tree and to minimize disease risk.
