In other municipalities you need to apply for a permit for even the smallest of trees and the permit request alone can cost a lot of money.
Permit or not, you are always required to adhere to the dutch Environment Law (dutch: Omgevingswet). It aims to protect wildlife and nature in general. Mainly applicable to occupied bird nests or year round protected bird nests.

Climbing is the preferred method for ensuring the safety of nearby goods or property, offering the highest level of control and accuracy in tree removal. For full tree extraction, climbing with spurs and a flip-line or lanyard can be used. For tree trimming, though, we steer clear of spurs to avoid harming the tree and to minimize disease risk.
